Kindness

You are being kind when you:

  • Attend to someone who is sad or who needs your help.
  • Do things that make others happy.
  • Do things that help the earth- recycle, reuse and reduce waste.
  • Use kind words and actions instead of words and actions that hurt others.
  • Celebrate the differences in others.
  • Take good care of all animals.
    • Take good care of all of God’s creation.

Remember that God created all things on the earth. We must celebrate that creation by being kind to all people and animals. Be kind in what you do and what you say.

    Virtues

    All virtues are great,

    With friends you can celebrate.

    You will see in school,

    Being kind will always rule!

    Smiles will go far,

Does not matter where you are!

    You should help your friends,

They will like you till school ends.

    You can help your mom,

Until all the chores are done.

If at times you are sad,

Think of the good times you've had.

    All virtues are pure

    Many things these virtues are!

    Kindness

Virtues are important rules that you must obey in order to be happy with yourself and the people around you.

Kindness is probably the most important virtue. Being kind when you are happy and helpful to other people. When you are kind to others, they will more than likely, be kind back to you. Kindness is spread to other people. When you smile, you are being kind, and smiles spread. That means your kindness is spreading.

    Friends Forever

Forty soldiers from the Canadian army ran frantically out of the transport and began to shoot their guns. One of the men on board the transport was Mark the Captain of the mission and right behind him was his best friend Jon. Jon and Mark had been friends since they were babies twenty years ago and they both had an interest in engineering before the World War II.

Everyone could hear bullets zooming past their heads but it was hard to see where it was coming from because the grenades made smoke rise up into the air. Mark and Jon were constantly running and turning through the tall yellow grass to avoid getting shot by the enemy.

Suddenly, Jon saw an enemy get ready to fire at Mark. Jon dove in front of Mark in an attempt to save his best friend. The bullet hit Jon in the chest and he fell on the ground gasping for air. Mark went to go help Jon up so he could get to the medic. Mark carried Jon on his shoulder while weaving in and out trying to dodge bullets. By the time Mark got Jon to the medic Jon was dead. At that moment Mark felt emptiness inside himself. He felt lonely for the first time in his life. Mark was so devastated he didn’t even think about being under fire.

Later that day Mark got shot in the leg while setting up mines and was brought to the hospital where they helped him recover.

Mark received the Purple Heart medal and was taken back home. When Mark arrived home, he signed up to be a volunteer at the hospital for wounded soldiers. There he helped doctors save soldiers who were wounded in the war. He raised money for the hospitals and for families devastated by war. Through his work Mark always hoped that he earned his chance to live, and was loyal to Jon for taking the bullet.

Year’s later Mark died of old age. Before he died he asked to be buried beside his friend and others who had died in the battle.

    A Lesson

" I want that toy mom!" screamed Kurt so loudly that people were staring at him.

" No!" replied his mother, " It’s to expensive. Let’s go."

"I want it!" said Kurt and he ran off crying.

"Kurt," His mother said loudly, "where are you?" His mother stopped her shopping and went off looking for her son.

She was scared because it was a big store and she could not find her little boy.

In the meantime Kurt realized that he really didn’t need the toy. He was lost and couldn’t get back to his mom.

"What if I never find her. I’ll be an orphan!" thought Kurt. Kurt started to cry again.

" Kurt where are you?" called his mother loudly. She ran up and down every isle looking for her beloved son. In her mind, she started to pray that nothing would happen to her little boy.

People past Kurt but didn’t bother to help him. So he looked for a lady or a man that worked at the store. But couldn’t find anybody.

A kind and gentle looking women named Kathy came along and started to talk to Kurt, "Hi Tiger, are you lost?"

Kurt was a bright and smart child. Kurt knew never to talk to strangers but he had a feeling that he could trust this woman. " Yes," said Kurt, "can you help me?"

"Why of course Tiger lets go talk to the manager," said Kathy.

While Kathy was talking to Peter the manager, Kurt started to feel a bit happier because he knew that he would find his mom, soon.

" Tiger can you give us you mom’s first and last name?" asked Kathy.

"My mom’s name is Stacy Robinson," replied Kurt.

    "Thanks, Tiger," said Kathy.

While she was talking to the manager Kurt wondered why Kathy always called him Tiger?

Then there was a big loud voice. It was the manager’s voice. He said, "Can Stacy Robinson please come to customer service. We have your son!"

His mom came and hugged him. Kurt was so happy he was going home. He said, "Mommy I’m sorry for not listening and running off like that. I love you,"

"That’s O.K., Kurt. I love you. Let’s go home," replied his mother.

"Just wait. Thank you Kathy for helping me get back to my mommy!" said Kurt. "Mom can Kathy come over for supper?"

"Sure," said his mom, " but after she leaves you’re grounded for three whole weeks!" she said sternly.

    The Beggar

An old beggar lay still from the frost and cold the night before. He wore clothes from three years ago when he had found a little money to purchase the clothes. The rags he wore had rips in the arms and everywhere he could think of.

The old beggar thought about what people could say to him like, "Are you all right?" or "Do you need some help?" That kind of stuff never happens around this place, he thought. Then one day something peculiar happened, an old woman walked by and gave the old man five dollars. "Five whole dollars," he thought. The old beggar was thinking about buying new clothes. So he went to the store, but even the discount sales were way over his five-dollar budget! The man thought he could save up his little money till he could buy new clothes for himself.

The next day the old man was laying down and someone woke him up. It was a young man. He asked the beggar if he would like some of the fruit that he just bought. The old beggar was very happy that now two people cared for him. He said yes and he ate the fruit slowly. "It tastes so juicy!" the old beggar said in delight. "Now, I won’t be hungry for a couple of hours," he thought.

Next day a little child walked past with his mother.

" Why do you live on the street old man?" asked the little kid.

The old beggar told the kid why he lived on the street and the kid asked the mom if he could give the man ten dollars. The mom said no but then the kid started to cry then the mom reconsidered and gave the beggar ten dollars.

"Yes!" the beggar screamed out loud. "Thank you, thank you!"

"Now," he thought, "its just me, and the shopping mall." Every store that he went to, he got kicked out of. There was only one store that allowed him in. He went to the clerk and asked, "What clothes can I buy for fifteen dollars?"

"Sir we have this really nice set of pants and a shirt for $10.99 would you like it?" said the very polite saleslady.

So the beggar tried on the clothes, and they fit him perfectly. The beggar took it and said "Thank you for all your help." The next day he was sitting on the concrete sidewalk. He was wearing his brand new clothes. All of a sudden someone huge picked him up. It was a large man with huge muscles! He took the beggar into a back alley and ripped his clothes and punched him. When the bully was done with him the beggar managed to crawl back to his little place where he was living on the street.

A young lady saw him and ran to him, "My goodness, don’t worry I’ll take care of you!"

The young woman managed to help the man walk and she got him home. When the beggar saw woman's house he almost fainted because her house was so beautiful.

The woman let the old beggar sleep at her house, eat at her house, play cards at her house for the next couple of days. One day the young woman brought the old beggar to see some friends and he had a wonderful time! These people made him laugh. These people changed his life. They got together almost everyday, and they played cards together, went swimming together and even went to concerts together.

Now, whenever he walked into a store people don’t kick him out anymore. He appreciated that someone took him in and cared for him but mostly because he doesn’t have to wear rags anymore. The old beggar now has his life turned around. Now, he is cared for.
