Student Ideas on Patience

Patience

Virtues are important rules that you must obey in order to be happy with yourself and the people around you.

You show patience when you have to wait for something you want for a very long time. When somebody makes a mistake, you should be patient with them so that they learn from their mistakes. Part of being patient is tolerance. Patience and tolerance work together quite nicely, because you have to be patient to be tolerant, and you have to be tolerant to be patient.

 The Change

One early Saturday morning in a little bungalow on Rainbow Ave. Stacey the little five-year-old who lived in the house woke up. She walked out of her room and ran into her mom and dads room and said, " good morning mommy and daddy."

"Good morning sweetie," said Stacey’s mom in a sleepy voice. "Today, do you want to go get some toys for yourself."

"Sure, I’d love to!" replied Stacey happily. "I love my mommy and daddy," said Stacey walking down the stairs, "because, since I’m and only child I get every thing I want."

One hour later Stacey was in toy isle of Toys R Us with her mom. Stacey found what she wanted and turned around to tell her mommy, She saw her mom looking at chew toys, soothers, and bottles. Stacey said, " Mommy I’m not a baby, I hate that kind of stuff."

"It’s not for you sweetie," replied mommy with a smile on her face, "it’s for your new baby sister."

"What a baby sister!" screamed Stacey.

"Yes a baby sister," said Stacey’s mom, "but when she comes you got to be a big help for me, okay."

"Okay," said Stacey sadly. When they got home Stacey ran to her room crying. She thought "Now since my mommy is going to have a baby I won’t get the attention that I did before!"

6 Months Later

" I’m home!" yelled Stacey’s mom coming in the door with the new baby. "Come look at your new baby sister Julie!"

"No, I don’t want to come!" yelled Stacey angrily.

"Ok, if that’s what you want," said mommy. A couple hours later mommy calls Stacey downstairs for supper. She ran downstairs and sat in her chair, "I’m ready for my food."

"Your going to have to wait for a while and be patient, because Julie needs her food."

"Oh ok," said Stacey sighing. It’s been five minutes and she was really hungry but she still waited. Finally half an hour later her mom was done and she got her food.

"Thanks for waiting sweetie I know that was hard for you!" mom said happily.

After dinner she turned around and saw mommy looking really tired. So Stacey walked over to her and said, "What’s wrong mommy."

"I’m so tired and Julie is crying again."

So when Stacey heard what her mom said she ran upstairs, took Julie out of her crib, played with her, and tickled her little tummy. When Julie fell asleep Stacey put her back in the crib and covered her with a blanket. Stacey walked down stairs.

All of a sudden mommy came out of the kitchen and said, "I can’t believe what you just did, you were so patient and helpful today." "I love you very much and I hope you will be like this every day."

"Of course mommy," said Stacey.

15 years later

Stacey ended up being a nurse at her hometown hospital and helped with the babies who are born and don’t have parents afterwards. Stacey adopts lots of babies and helps the babies who are out there on the street. There are so many more babies out there in the world says Stacey and she wishes she could save every last one of them.
